Finally!

The following post was posted by Jess.

I have finally finished The Gunslinger. Due to sickness it took me 3 weeks to finally get through. Now I need to write this report.

Hopefully this doesn't take another 3 weeks!

July 4th 2010

Went to the stock car races on friday, then went to a homtown baseball game and had a hotdog and beer, fireworks followed on Saturday.
Today I visited the Corvette museum, and tonight I am going to grill out then detonate enough explosives to level a third world village.

I am so American that I feel that I should find a French kid and punch him in the face and force him to thank me for liberating his crouscant eating butt.

Excruciatingly happy words...

I'm half way through Twilight, or as I like to call it Fun with Adjectives and made up words.

Like "Handsomer" which technically is a word but I refuse to recognize it as such because it's dumb.

Fitting....really.

I hope Jess is enjoying the Gunslinger.........

The Gunslinger

The following post was posted by Jess.

I have started my book "The Gunslinger" by Stephen King. My first impression so far is who in the world is the man in black and why is the gunslinger hellbent on catching him?

My favorite part so far? Zoltan

Wondering how Josh is doing with "Twilight". I hope he doesn't follow suit with the rest of the world and falls in love with Edward Cullen. Bwhaha.

What IS TAABP?

TAABP stands for The Amazingly Academic Book Project and here is what it is and how it got started.

My sister asked to borrow a specific book and when she did two ideas immediately struck me.

The first being that out of fun (and in all seriousness of holding her to it) I placed a condition that she write a book report about the book in question, the second was that such a thing would be great to post up on here.

So wallah, TAABP was born. The rules that she and I came up with together are in an earlier post so you can find them there.

The thing to keep in mind though is that these reports are not the sort you would turn into a teacher and expect a passing grade, brutality and humor are the goal. Also, while the first round has books that most would consider good to at least some group, the immediate goal this summer is to find the most horrific and absurd books we can and force the other to read and then report on them.

I already have a BMD (Book of Mass Destruction) in mind in case Jess decides to throw down the heavy stuff early on in the project.

Anyways, Jess has been invited to post up on here so you may see her around.

TAABP Round 1
